• Meridi, July 28 (SUNA) - Addressing a mass rally in Meridi town, West Equatoria State Tuesday, the Vice President of the Republic Ali Osman Mohamed Taha announced, at the sidelines of the Dam inauguration, that the government reiterates its continuing commitment to the implementation of all programmes to the peace, considering the dam as the outset of Meridi rehabilitation
Taha added that the federal government and the government of Southern Sudan would share with the citizens of southern Sudan the concern on the rest of the projects in all services, praising the role of the Dam Implementation Unit in materializing promises made by the President of the Republic Al-Bashir in this respect
He said that the promises made by Al-Bashir during his elections campaign in Meridid would be carried out, namely the commitment to peace, security provision and implementation of agricultural development in the area, pointing out that the problems facing citizens including security, will be attentively handled by the federal government and the government of south Sudan
He underlined that they would not allow foreign elements to disturb the security, namely the Ugandan Lord Resistance Army (LRA)
The Vice President pledged to complete all the projects in the area, making special reference to Meridi Teachers Trainiung Institute
