Foreign Minister Receives Delegation of the British House of Lords

Khartoum,  (SUNA)- The Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, received in his office Sunday the visiting delegation of the British House of Lords,

which includes representatives of a number of British parties.
In a press statement after the meeting, Prof. Ghandour said that he informed the delegation on the situation in Sudan, progress of the national dialogue and the government commitment to implementation of the dialogue outcome.
Prof. Ghanour said that he also assured the government seriousness for the negotiations with the People's Movement - North Sector and the armed movements of Darfur.
The Foreign Minister said that he also informed the House of Lords' delegation on Sudan relations with the United States and Europe and his expected visit to Brussels to meet with the European Union leaders and the importance of enhancement of Sudan relations with the European Union and the European countries.
Prof. Ghanour said that he affirmed Sudan keenness to establish distinguished relations with Britain, describing the current level of the bilateral relations as below the aspiration.
He said that they also deliberated about the developments in the region and the issues of terrorism, human trafficking, human rights and the relations between Khartoum and London.
Meanwhile, members of the British delegation affirmed their keenness to work for enhancement of the relations between Sudan and Britain, especially in the economic field.
They inquired at the meeting about the issues of peace, the national dialogue and the economic situation and the efforts to enhance it.
