Minister of Information Affirms Importance of Informing about Administrative Referendum in Darfur

Genaina,  (SUNA) - The Minister of Information, Dr. Ahmed Bilal, has affirmed the importance of informing citizens with importance of the administrative referendum of Darfur, stressing that

holding the referendum in the fixed time is a moral obligation.
This came in his address to a meeting of the information committee for the referendum of Darfur in Genaina, the capital of West Darfur State, in presence of the State Minister at the Ministry of Information, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, the Walis (governors) of East and West Darfur and representatives of the mass media and press.
Dr. Bilal said that the referendum of Darfur is an administrative one and has nothing to do with self-determination.
He affirmed the important role of the civil society organizations and the mass media in informing with the importance of the administrative referendum of Darfur.
Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of West Darfur State, Dr. Khalil Abdalla, announced that more than 350,000 citizens in the state have registered their names for voting in the referendum scheduled for next April.
