Foreign Minister and British Delegation Discuss Outcome of Meetings of Joint Consultation Committee

Khartoum, (SUNA)- The Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, Monday received in his office the Director of the African Affairs Department, Neil Wigan, and the accompanying delegation and

discussed outcome of the meetings of the joint Sudanese - British strategic dialogue committee which were held during March 20 - 21 at the Foreign Ministry, co-headed by the Ambassador Dafaalla Al-Haj Ali and Ambassador Neil Wigan.
The Foreign Minister has appreciated the meetings and the start of strategic dialogue between the two countries, stressing the importance of exerting efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations in all domains.
Prof. Ghandour has briefed the British delegation on the internal developments, progress of the negotiations in Addis Ababa under auspices of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel and the effective role of Sudan at the region which is witnessing several challenges and disputes, expressing the readiness of Sudan to cooperate with the international community for confronting these challenges.
The head of the British delegation has expressed the desire of his counry to consolidate its relations with Sudan and to cooperate with it on human rights issues and in combating the illegal immigration and human trafficking.
He appreciated the enhancement of Sudan to its relations with the countries at the region.
