The Board of Muslim Scholars renews call for combating fundamentalism through dialogue


 (SUNA)- The Sudan Board of Muslim Scholar has renewed its call to contain the fundamentalism and ideological deviation that started seeping into the Sudanese community and into the very basic principles of the Islamic sharia.


Professor Mohamed Osman Salih, the chairman of the board told the official Sudan news agency SUNA that it was imperative to stick to the Islamic methodology of modernism against the challenges, through the realization of the Sharia and Islamic Shura and consultation principle.

He said it was also imperative to educate the middle class in face of these challenges thought the implementation of the lofty Islamic principles of justice, equality in the Sudanese communities.

He also said for this effort to succeed the prayer leaders and preachers have to be thorough educated on how to handle issues related to modern age challenges.

He underlined the need to pay special attention to the youth and to respond to their legitimate demands.
