Chairman of Board of Directors of Shirian Media Group and Sudanese Media Center (smc) has condemned accusations and lies propagated by International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor General Louis Ocampo in his series of unfounded fabricated stories against the country and its political leadership. The Prosecutor has asserted that (smc) works on misleading foreign and local media about the situation in Darfur. The Prosecutor alleged that the center reports that Darfur is a safe place for people to live in naturally. However, all the center has done is reflect the development of events in Darfur and report stories highlighted in the reports presented by UN, AU and diplomatic corps in Sudan that have visited Darfur.

Following the news regarding the intention of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for a number of senior Sudanese officials including the President of the Republic, accusing them of committing crimes in Darfur, Dr. Mutrif Siddig Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council along with European Union representative and the representative of the African Union and the Group of Ambassadors of Arab and African, Asian countries and communicated to them the grave step of the International Criminal Court. He pointed that this development will be a significant adverse impact not only on achieving peace and stability in Sudan, but also for stability and regional security as a whole.
