President Al-Bashir affirms that imposing obligatory economic measures hinders the freedom of trade and investment issues of the ACP states [2006-12-07]
(SUNA)- President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir said while addressing the inaugural session of the 5th ACP summit at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum Thursday that following the millennium summit 2005 and the adoption of its recommendations, on issues of development and how to implement the millennium development goals particularly the issue of funding development, it was evident that the international community is still unable to allocate the required funds for development in spite of what has been achieved at the level of the MDGs. President Al-Bashir explained that in spite of the stumbling blocs that we reiterate our commitment visa a vis what we have agreed upon in the MDGs and renew our determination to realize its goals for a better life for all humanity and we should also emphasize our states rights to set their priorities in terms of development without preconditions that hinder their efforts and shake their priorities...More
